Welcome to the Bayfield Carnegie Library!
Please note: the Bayfield Carnegie Library will be closed for Thanksgiving and only open from 9:30 AM-1 PM on Friday. We will resume our normal business hours on Saturday, from 9:30-3 PM. Thank you.
The library continues to build its endowment. Please see below for how you can help us reach our goal!
“A library outranks any other one thing a community can do
to benefit its people. It is a never-failing spring in the desert.”
Dear Bayfield Library Friends and Patrons,
Our historic Carnegie library is a community legacy that enriches our lives in so many ways—both for year-round residents and for the many seasonal patrons who live here. Our mission is to be “a compass for curious minds”, providing books, DVDs, magazines, newspapers and Wi-Fi in an inclusive atmosphere. The library's diverse programs strive to educate, entertain, and inspire people of all ages.
In 2015, to protect the financial stability and well-being of our library into the future, the board established an endowment fund through the Apostle Island Area Community Fund. To date, we have reached $42,597 toward our target goal of $100,000 within three years. The generosity of patrons like you, with gifts both large and small, is absolutely essential to attain this goal.
Recently an anonymous donor has stepped forward with a matching grant of $10,000 to support the endowment effort. The library community must complement this gift by raising another $10,000 by January 2018. Your contribution to our effort helps ensure the endowment's future.
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR EFFORTS TO GROW THE ENDOWMENT

Due to technical problems with the library's movie player, we will be postponing the showing of the new Pirate of the Caribbean film, that was scheduled to show at the library THIS Friday. Thank you
We are missing one of the sandwich board signs used for Comic/Sci-Fi Con 2017. It was last seen at at the corner of Rittenhouse and Hwy. 13 on Saturday, Oct. 28. Since this year's Con did not take place at the library, if someone found it they may not have known to return it to the library. Please contact the library if you have any information about this. This sign is also used for other library events including our annual book sale. It is valuable to the library. Thank you!
