Apple Blossom Run

The run was started in 1981 by volunteers from the Friends of the Bayfield Library. Saturday 17 May 2008 will mark the run’s 27th year!

Applefest Book Sale

A huge sale that includes donated books, videos, CDs, and more. Friday and Saturday of Applefest, the first weekend in October, from 9am to 5pm.

Applesack Storytellers

Our children's librarian, Teresa Weber, coordinates a group of three brave women who put on a great show that rivals the Bigtop! The group will travel to local schools or Headstarts. Call the library for availability.

Bayfield Library Book Discussion Group

Discussions are held at the library at 7:00p.m. on Wednesday evenings (usually the 3rd Wed. of the month). Please sign up at the library each month and pick up your book. Paperback copies are available at half price or books may be loaned. Selections may change during the course of the year according to the wishes of the participants. New members are always welcome.

Cabin Fever Series

A lecture-travelogue-demonstration series sponsored by The Friends of the Library to get everyone out of the house in winter! Local residents share their stories of travel, adventure, advocacy and wisdom with our community. Refreshments and a warm community gathering for all!!!

Children's Community Garden

Instruction for growing and preparing healthy food. Coordinated by Joy Schelbe and co-sponsored by the Bayfield County Extension Service. The garden includes five decorated raised beds, trellis and flower sundial. 2004 plans are for the addition of grape vines and raspberry batch.

Our After School Programs

  • Snacks every Thursday after school.
  • Homework and reference help.
  • Childrens arts and crafts programs.

Spring Rummage Sale

At the Bayfield Pavilion in April. This is a bargain-filled fundraiser sponsored by the Bayfield Heritage Association and the Bayfield Library.

Summer Reading Program

Book discussions for children with free books. The Library Store where kids can spend their Library Loot! (earned by reading and recording books in their reading records).
